One ceiling light with integrated screen, it's easy to define: a premium ceiling lamp that provides the main lighting of your healthcare room, and integrates a screen into the elongated patient's vision axis. Before investing, you deserve a complete answer: what it really does, what it doesn't solve, and how much it actually costs. Here's the honest guide.
First, what exactly is this?
It's not not "A TV on the ceiling." It's first of all a main care room light — dimensioned to illuminate the room according to dental requirements (750 to 1000 lux recommended, high CRI, suitable colour temperature) — in which a 32-inch or 43-inch screen is integrated, positioned for a comfortable look from the chair. Only one object on the ceiling replaces two separate installations: lighting and screen.
The real benefits
1. Only one tradesperson instead of three
Installing separate main lighting, a ceiling screen and acoustic treatment means coordinating electrician, AV installer and plaquist — three interventions, three schedulings, three responsibilities in case of problems. An integrated luminaire is installed in one operation.
2. A well-positioned screen, designed for the chair
A wall screen or TV attached to the ceiling after the blow is rarely found in the real vision axis of the elongated patient. On an integrated luminaire, the screen position is set depending on the seat's location from the project design.
3. Patient comfort, without compromise on lighting
During long care, the patient watches a film or soothing content: attention is turned away from the clinical gesture. This is particularly effective in pedodontics and orthodontics — and the patients talk about it around them. But unlike a simple TV, you don't sacrifice anything of the quality of lighting: it is the main luminaire of the room. Our article on the Smart TV and patient stress details this aspect.
4. A visually consistent room
A premium practice reads in detail: a ceiling with a single elegant architectural object rather than an accumulation of slabs, cables and screen supports. That's what your patients are photographing.
The limits — let's talk frankly about it
- It's more expensive than a simple luminaire. Count about double an equivalent LED suspension without a screen. If your need is purely luminous, a model without a screen is a better choice — and we will tell you.
- Not useful for very short care. A firm that only runs 10-minute consultations will get little value from the screen. The benefit is real on the treatments of 30 minutes and more.
- Positioning depends on the chair. If your chair is to change in the near future, it must be planned before the installation — hence the importance of the questions that we ask upstream (dimensions, height, location).
- The connection requires a small preparation. Power supply and, depending on usage, network access for content: nothing complex, but to anticipate with your electrician, especially on full ceiling.
- A screen remains an electronic equipment. Its service life is not that of LEDs (50,000 h). Our luminaires are guaranteed 5 years, and the screen is replaceable without changing the luminaire.
Our position: If you hesitate between two models, take the one that fits your real use, not the most expensive. A luminaire without a well-chosen screen is better than an integrated screen that will not serve. That is why we are also contact form first with questions about your room, not with an order form.

Which firms are the most relevant?
- Practices in creation or renovation — integration is ideally planned with the plans
- Orthodontics and pedodontics — young patients, regular care, strong word of mouth
- Implantology and surgery — long-term care where patient relaxation counts
- Aesthetic dentistry — consistency with high-end positioning
In summary
A luminaire with built-in screen is above all an excellent care room ceiling, which also brings real patient comfort on long-term care – at the cost of a higher investment (€4,600 to €6,400 according to model) and a slightly more prepared project (sweetness, ceiling, connection). If your room is suitable, it is the equipment that makes the most visible difference between a firm. If it does not lend itself to it, we will direct you to a model without a screen.
